The number of VLP seismic events (standard values 5-12) is high, 13.7 events/hour.

The amplitude of seismic tremor is high.

The infrasonic activity is medium. The acoustic pressure of explosions is low, 0.8 bar (standard values <1 bar). The amplitude of puffing is medium, ~50 mbar.

Tiltmeters analysis does not show any significant deformation of the volcano edifice

Thermal activity of explosive events is medium. The number of thermal transients in the NE sector of the crater (standard = 100) is high, 214. The amplitude of thermal transients is low, 5 ºF. Exit velocity of pyroclasts, estimated through thermal camera analysis, is medium, 25 m/s.

MODIS thermal anomalies are low: 2 MW (01:00 UTC yesterday).

Rockfall activity is low. The number of rockfalls is 5 per day.

SO2 flux in the NE sector of the crater terrace is medium, 106 t/d

CO2 flux based on the C/S of 30.84 mesured at 16:20 UTC on 2024/05/01 is very high, 3334 t/d

The volcanic activity is characterized by strombolian explosions coupled by spattering and degassing activity (puffing) located at the SW and NE crater sectors. In the last 24 hrs, explosive activity, mainly centered at NE sector, exhibit acoustic pressure at MEDIUM values (up to 0.9 bar) and HIGH degassing activity (50 mbar), localized at NE sector. The number of VLP events is HIGH (13.7 events/hour). Thermal activity was characterized by a HIGH number of thermal transients with LOW amplitudes and MEDIUM exit velocities. The volcanic tremor shows oscillation from MEDIUM to HIGH level. MODIS/VIIRS images show LOW thermal anomalies. SO2 flux in the last 24h shows MEDIUM values (106 T/d). The CO2 flux, retrieved by C/S ratio of 30.84 measured at 16:20UTC of yesterday, show an increment towards VERY HIGH values (3334 T/d). Rockfall activity is LOW, with 5 events detected. The volcanic activity index is HIGH.
