The number of VLP seismic events (standard values 5-12) is medium, 10 events/hour.
The amplitude of seismic tremor is very high.
The infrasonic activity is high. The acoustic pressure of explosions is medium, 1.38 bar (standard values <1 bar). The amplitude of puffing is medium, ~97 mbar.
Tiltmeters analysis does not show any significant deformation of the volcano edifice
Thermal activity of explosive events is high. The number of thermal transients in the NE sector of the crater (standard = 100) is high, 496. The amplitude of thermal transients is high, 34 ºF. Exit velocity of pyroclasts, estimated through thermal camera analysis, is high, 40 m/s.
MODIS thermal anomalies are high: 101 MW (20:25 UTC yesterday).
Rockfall activity is high. The number of rockfalls is 18 per day.
SO2 flux in the NE sector of the crater terrace is high, 237 t/d
CO2 flux based on the C/S is not available

The volcanic activity is generally characterized by strombolian explosions, rich in scoria with ash emissions, located mainly at the NE crater sector and degassing (puffing/spattering) located at the NE crater sector. Spattering is characterized by HIGH values of pressure and this continuos activity is correlated with seismic tremor characterized from VERY HIGH values. Since 16:45 UTC this activity produced a lava overflow In the last 24h, the Stromboli volcano showed a HIGH degassing activity (puffing/spattering with values of about 97 mbar). The explosive activity is HIGH (max acoustic pressure 1.4 bar). The number of explosions (thermal transients) are HIGH, with a HIGH thermal amplitude and HIGH exit velocity of pyroclasts. The volcanic tremor shows VERY HIGH values. The number of VLP events showed MEDIUM values (10.0 events/hour). MODIS/VIIRS thermal data shows HIGH values (max 101 MW), consistent with the observed activity SO2 flux shows HIGH values (last: 237 t/d recorded on the 16/08/2024), CO2 flux shows non new data (last: 1333 t/d based on C/S value of 5.09 recorded on the 13/08/2024). The rockfall activity is HIGH (18 events detected with LOW to MEDIUM pseudo-volumes associated). The volcanic activity index is HIGH.
