Bulletin n. 7784
03/07/2026 - 12:39
The number of VLP seismic events (standard values 5-12) is high, 13.1 events/hour.
The amplitude of seismic tremor is high.
The infrasonic activity is high. The acoustic pressure of explosions is high, 1.3 bar (standard values <1 bar). The amplitude of puffing is high, ~90 mbar.
Tiltmeters analysis does not show any significant deformation of the volcano edifice
Thermal activity of explosive events is medium. The number of thermal transients in the NE sector of the crater (standard = 100) is high, 278. The amplitude of thermal transients is low, 10 ºF. Exit velocity of pyroclasts, estimated through thermal camera analysis, is medium, 20 m/s.
MODIS thermal anomalies: no thermal anomalies.
Rockfall activity is low. The number of rockfalls is 2 per day.
SO2 flux in the NE sector of the crater terrace is low, 28 t/d
CO2 flux based on the C/S of 7.5 mesured at 17:20 UTC on 2026/07/02 is medium, 567 t/d
Indice di Attività Vulcanica: medium

The volcanic activity of Stromboli volcano showed HIGH degassing activity (puffing/spattering values of about 90 mbar) located mainly in the NE sector, associated with HIGH explosive activity (max. acoustic pressure 1.2 bar), located in the NE sector. The volcanic tremor show HIGH values. The number of VLP events is HIGH (13.1 events/hour). No thermal anomalies were detected by MODIS and VIIRS satellite images. SO2 flux is LOW (28 t/d). CO2 flux is MEDIUM (567 t/d). The number of rockfalls is LOW, with 2 events detected in the last 24h. The volcanic activity index is MEDIUM.
